Hurray! In-Person Meetings are Back

I know it’s easy and less expensive to get timely information and CME online from many sources.  I’ve appreciated the virtual-only meetings sponsored by CALTCM and AMDA during the pandemic.  Over time, they have become more user friendly and engaging.

However, in-person meetings have much more to offer and are worth the expense.  As a presenter at prior AMDA and CALTCM in-person meetings and for virtual meetings, I have found it much easier to effectively communicate the subject material in person where I can read the response of the audience.  Panel discussions and in-the-trenches sessions with peer-to-peer sharing and learning, flow much better.  From a relationship perspective, I’ve also appreciated our speakers’ willingness to take questions in between sessions.  In our specialty, we are truly multi-disciplinary and have flattened the hierarchy in medicine so that everyone is welcome at the table.  This is truly a family experience and is best experienced in person.  These family relationships extend beyond our meetings and may involve assistance with pilot projects, identifying pertinent resources and literature, or advice addressing clinical problems in your facility or even help finding malpractice insurance.

This year, our annual CALTCM meeting will be in person at the beautiful Pacific Palms Resort in the City of Industry on October 6 and 7.  Check out the lineup, which includes our 5th annual Medicolegal and Risk Management session, here: https://www.caltcm-summit-for-excellence.org/ Please clear your schedule for a “breath of fresh air” and “rejuvenation” at our 48th CALTCM annual meeting, the CALTCM Summit for Excellence!

See you there, family!
