CALTCM Presidential Update: June 2022

As CALTCM’s President, I am pleased to announce that our Board of Directors has appointed Dominic Lim as CALTCM’s Interim CEO.

Dominic brings with him nearly two decades of experience in the healthcare industry, with a focus in strategic partnerships, operational excellence and innovation, large-scale business and technology transformation, medical group and managed care operations, and regulatory compliance. He currently serves as the Senior Director of Operations for Homebase Medical (a SCAN Group affiliate specializing in the delivery of home-based care for frail and vulnerable older adults). Dominic has also held various leadership roles in management consulting while at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte Consulting. Dominic received his Master of Public Health from Yale University and a Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.

As CALTCM and our members in PA/LTC move forward into value, I have no doubt that Dominic's leadership will position us well into the future.  Dominic has served as a CALTCM Board Member since May 2021 and has taken on other various leadership roles for CALTCM, most recently assuming the roles of Board Secretary and of Interim Co-Chair of the Education Committee this year. He has also served on the faculty for the CALTCM Leadership & Management in Geriatrics course since 2020.

As Interim CEO, Dominic's primary priorities will focus on extending efforts in the pursuit of strategic relationships and funding; increasing value for our members through in person, virtual, and on-demand education; advocating for increased quality in long-term care medicine through policy and other advocacy endeavors; promoting increased adoption of on-the-go mobile app usage; and increasing organizational membership across major constituent audiences. He will partner with our CALTCM Board and other key leaders (Barbara Hulz, Rachel Rios) in striving to achieve these goals.

As we welcome Dominic in his new role, I would also like to thank our former executive director, David Quackenbush, for all of his work. Prior to the end of his tenure, David helped CALTCM create its strategic plan for the next 3-5 years and was an important advocate in helping CALTCM shape quality care through advocacy, overseeing the groundbreaking passage of AB 749 in the California Legislature, and shepherding CALTCM's position on several other quality care bills.
