As you are well aware, CMS is serious about all Nursing Homes following evidenced based procedures to improve the quality of care of residents living in our homes.  The Quality Assurance Performance Improvement demonstration project is starting to post tools and resources available at: http://www.cms.gov/Medicare/Provider-Enrollment-and-Certification/QAPI/NHQAPI.html

While the posting of the completed demonstration project recommendations are still pending,  CMS still expects facilities to be active with QAPI in 2014.

One of our own longtime leaders and President-Elect is Dr. Debra Bakerjian.  She has written the attached practical article on quality improvement using Advancing Excellence’s Circle of Excellence model. (Article attached below.)
