I received the attached announcement recently about important changes to the Medicare rules on Inpatient Admissions from Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.   I believe this is good news! for our potential residents, since it means more hospital admissions will meet CMS’s 3 day qualifying stay criteria, necessary for qualifying for the

Medicare Part A Benefit.  It also means that hospitals and SNFs will have more confidence that their determination that a patient qualifies for the benefit means they will actually receive the benefit.  

Here’s hoping that the 3 day visit requirement goes away in the future, but don’t hold your breath!
