CALTCM is proud to present the 18th Annual Leadership & Management in Geriatrics course. This two-day course affords participants (physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals) the opportunity to spend time in an intensive and highly interactive setting with leaders in the field of geriatric medical management. Participants are encouraged to think "outside of the box" and consider novel approaches to creating and managing geriatric clinics, practices, and services.  A unique feature of the conference is the opportunity for participants to work in small collaborative groups with faculty mentors. Building Inclusive and Sensitive Long Term Care Services for LGBTQ Communities

This one-hour webinar will describe the required elements for responding to the emerging needs of long term care organizations to provide sensitive and respectful services to LGBT residents. In the webinar we will discuss relevant terminology related to sexual orientation and gender identity, discuss common challenges experienced by LGBT older adults and provide recommendations for honoring patient rights. This webinar will also satisfy new legal requirements for staff and management in long term health care to participate in LGBTQ sensitivity training.
