    Speaker: Huy Ngo, MD
    Learning Objectives:
    1. Define substance use disorder criteria.
    2. Outline facility responsibility for diagnosis and treatment of residents with substance use disorder.
    3. Review a customized "substance use" care planning tool.
    4. Practice motivational interviewing. 
    5. Get comfortable writing a prescription for buprenorphine.

    Learning Objectives:
    1. Identify trade and generic names of newly approved drugs in 2022-2023.
    2. Describe the mechanism of action for three newly approved drugs and their black box warnings.
    3. Differentiate newly approved drug agents that are appropriate for use in geriatrics.

    Learning Objectives:
    1. Identify three differences with the new Beers criteria compared to the old criteria.
    2. Define the patient population where the Beers criteria are the most important
    3. Review a case of a patient who is utilizing Beers medications and identify strategies for deprescribing.

    Speaker: Cari Levy, MD, PhD, CMD
    Learning Objectives:
    1. Describe therapeutic indications and known effects of Ketamine, Psylocibin, and MDMA (Ecstasy).
    2. Review evidence of effectiveness of these drugs for depression, PTSD, and death anxiety.
    3. Define micro-dosing and when it may be used.
    4. Find a resource to test purity of a drug.
    5. Develop comfort with asking questions about the use of these medications for your patients.
